Chris and Debby Falco
Today's sole post is a Valentine's Day tribute to Debby Falco, the woman I fell in love with and envisioned spending the rest of my life with. A warm and wonderful woman who gave me three fine children, years of fond memories, good times, and loved me...at least for a number of years.
Time heals all wounds they say...to an extent this must be true...last night, for the first time in nearly three years I was able to listen to my favorite song without tears....our song that we danced to at our wedding about 20 years ago. I love that song and it was good to be able to listen to the longer live version...and drift back to that the first dance as man and wife.
So on that note I dedicate today's post and the following song to Debby, my X wife, who I still love. May everyone have someone special in their life to love.

Wonderful Tonight
by Eric Clapton
by Eric Clapton
It's late in the evening; she's wondering what clothes to wear.
She puts on her make-up and brushes her long blond hair.
And then she asks me, "Do I look all right?"
And I say, "Yes, you look wonderful tonight."
We go to a party and everyone turns to see
This beautiful lady that's walking around with me.
And then she asks me, "Do you feel all right?"
And I say, "Yes, I feel wonderful tonight."
I feel wonderful because I see
The love light in your eyes.
And the wonder of it all
Is that you just don't realize how much I love you.
It's time to go home now and I've got an aching head,
So I give her the car keys and she helps me to bed.
And then I tell her, as I turn out the light,
I say, "My darling, you were wonderful tonight.
Oh my darling, you were wonderful tonight."
In spite of the divorce, it is good to have loved and to still love. I think "How empty is a man's heart who has never known true love", though Alfred Lord Tennyson may have said it best. 'Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.'

Chris,
That is an excellent photograph.

Thank you David my friend! While it causes me exquisite pain to gaze upon that image, see the love we had for each other reflected in our eyes, and realize the immensity of what I have lost. In spite of the pain it causes me, It is however, one of my favorite digital images!
I have had many defining moments in my life including almost dying of pneumonia, falling in love, having my first (and then subsequent) child). The one though that has affected me most has been the divorce. Cherish what you have with Laura; I am, quite envious, yet happy for you both!
Life always has some crap bits, so it is even more important to dwell on the good bits. It is a great photo, (curious to see you so much younger :P) and yes, even if valentines day isnt quite what it used to be it is a great day to reflect on those real warming feelings.
Liz, what you say is so true....my heart cannot let go of the love I hold for this woman....and I fear if I could some of my own loving natue might go with it.
I do try and remember the good....it's easy as there is no pain there....
Take acre my friend!
