Alas, a Tale of woe for Tails

Poor Kitty! She does not know it, but, Monday she goes into the vet for spaying and laser declaw on the front paws. The laser declawing costs more, but, it is evidently a more humane method of declawing a cat. There is less pain and bleeding and recovery time is faster too.

I will miss her! She has been my constant companion this weekend (a weekend I do not have the kids) and she has either been on my lap or within arms reach except for some brief intervals of tearing around the house kitten style.

Declawing seems a cruelty, yet it is best for all concerned. Otherwise, people and furniture suffer greatly.

David - I have had many cats declawed but I do not do it without realizing the pain involved for the kitty. At least this will be the first laser declaw a cat of mine has had which is supposed to have many advantages over the older method.

These include decrased pain and bleeding, quicker recovery, and less chances of complications like swelling and infection.

It is a greater cost per claw, but, can you put a price on this when compared to the advantages above? YES! You can and they did! However, I have no problem paying the extra money for my beloved Tails.

Our cats are dear to us, so I certainly understand your concern.

David - I love Tails! More so than quite a few people I know! Other than food and drink all she really asks for is affection, which she returns in abundance.

When the kids are not around she is usually, unless running around in crazy cat mode, asleep on my chest or on the couch next to me. I have grown quite fond and needful of her. Yesterday after arriving home I kept expecting to see her, and, out of the corner of my eyes I could have sworn I did a couple of times.
