I hate September 28th

This is, and always will be a crappy day of the year for me. It's the anniversary of my Mom's passing and my former Wedding Anniversary, in fact my mom died on our first anniversary. That put a stigma on the day while I was still married. Now at least that's not an issue.

I managed to do my exercise bike ride, and went to the store to get the ingredients for dinner. Just me and Tails, the kids are at their Mom's this weekend.

Tails and I are weathering the day as best we can. I just started pre-heating the oven for dinner, if this recipe works out well it will be posted tomorrow.

Sigh....I really hate this day of the year......... It's even worse this year with my dad gone. I know many people are without their parents, but, it takes some getting used to.

Chris - Truly sorry you have joined ranks of orphaned adults. Anniversaries are double edged swords. Good and bad. Sometimes simultaneous as you are experiencing.

I am planning (which includes convincing my husband) for our 25th wedding anniversary celebration next June. Instant bummer? Neither of my parents here to share our joy.

Thinking of you and hugs for this sad occasion.

Bev - Wow! 25 years, that's impressive!

Ys, you have to take the good and bad in life and in marriage.....what else can one do?

Thanks for thinking of me today, it is much appreciated!

PS - Yesterday's recipe turned out OK, but, not great, so no recipe post today. Perhaps after rev 2 if that turns out better.

Chris,

I hope today is much better!

The peppers look wonderful!

It was in the mid 90s all weekend here, and today is forecast to be 94 degrees.

David - At least I did not see or talk to the X at all yesterday. In previous years that has usually been unavoidable, I don't think she understands that on that particularly day she is the last person I want to interact with!

The temp here this AM was 55, it will rise to around 70. Enjoy your warm weather!

Chris,

It is certainly disheartening when people around us--particularly those who SHOULD be able to anticipate our feelings and sensitivities--do not understand (or care) how we feel.

David - Part of me will always love the X, part of me finds it hard dealing with the way my marriage ended. While I was certainly at fault too I took my vows and family obligations very seriously and would have done anything to save it, and spare the kids the heartache it caused them. The X did not share that philosophy.
